Diversity Champions Programme

Stonewall’s Diversity Champions programme was launched in 2001 and is the leading good practice forum on sexual orientation issues in the UK workplace. It brings together employers who are at the cutting edge of delivering diversity in business and public service and helps them focus on the new challenges and opportunities to promote issues of diversity in the workplace.

Diversity Champions members enjoy ten key benefits including networking opportunities with public and private sector organisations, good practice seminars and events, access to the latest thinking and knowledge, influence over policy development in the public and private sectors, and access to research and sponsorship opportunities.

Stonewall works with employers to create inclusive workplaces that are good for staff and good for business. Employers who want either to maximise shareholder value or deliver world-class public services need to recognise that the case for addressing issues around sexual orientation in the workplace is overwhelming.

With diversity a corporate buzz-word, UK gay campaigning organisation Stonewall advises employers in its DTI-sponsored Guidelines for Employers1 that advertising their vacancies in the Pink Paper will encourage diversity in the workplace and help ensure a fair and transparent recruitment process.
